Brooklyn, NY based artist Donovan Davidson (Black American, b. 1987) continues to explore social conditions by focusing on how our relationship with time determines the ways we value and experience individual and collective reality.
As an entrepreneur, curator and artist, Davidson has constructed platforms that prioritized interdisciplinary collaboration and creative ingenuity. These platforms provided broad utilitarian skill sets that lend themselves to nurturing dynamic cultural environments. From artistic programming to design, they provided the tools and space necessary for creatives to actualize their visions. Through Hiraeth, Davidson seeks to comprehend and portray the multifaceted and nuanced realities of his subjects as individual parts contributing to the greater whole of the human experience. He attempts to establish content that embodies the primary essence of an individual’s narrative. Davidson’s work takes a journalistic approach to creating content that illuminates the lives of others.
